What's New

                                                                        January 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Beginning  Tuesday, January 28th, for the next several weeks, your child will begin the yearly ACCESS test for English Language Learners. Students will test in English in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  The purpose of this test is to assess their English proficiency and to see how much their language acquisition has grown.

The ESOL teachers have been preparing the students for this test and know that by working together we can make this a positive and successful experience for the students. Here are some suggestions that will help your child succeed:

Get plenty of sleep the night before!

Be sure to eat a good breakfast either at home or in the school cafeteria.

Be here at school on time and with the tools needed. (Do you have your glasses? Are you ready?)

Have a positive attitude about the test. Remind your child how smart he or she is!  (We teach with heart.)

No stress, just do your best!

Thank you,

Your Child’s ESOL teacher
